Services
These are some of the most common services we offer.
Buying Your Bicycle and Accessories
Think of City Cyclist as your own Personal Shopper. As well as the bicycle you will need a handful of essential items before you ride. It's important that you make the right choices and it can be confusing if you don't know where to start. We'll ensure you're on the right track, getting exactly what you want and only what you need.
Setting Your Bicycle Up
We will make sure your bicycle is put together properly and is safe to ride. We can show you how to complete your own safety checks to ensure there are no surprises when you are out on the road.
Training Rides
City Cyclist can accompany you on your first few training rides. We don't need to go far from your home and there can be plenty of stops to discuss what you've just done. Your confidence, skills (and panache!) will soon build.
Maintaining Your Bicycle
Within an hour or so, we can teach you how to deal with the three or four most common problems which keep you off the road. We can show you how to change brake pads, adjust gears and of course, fix the dreaded puncture.

Why ride?
Some reasons why you might choose to ride a bicycle.
Covid 19
In these unusual times the normal interactions with people are, well...less normal. Using your bicycle as an alternative to Public Transport is a great way to reduce the risks associated with close contact with others. In addition, you'll make a whole new set of friends on your cycling journeys rather than sitting opposite the same people day in day out on the bus or tube.
Health benefits
It goes without saying that pretty much any physical exercise can have a health benefit. However, cycling is very good because it's what's known as 'low impact'. This means that you get to work your heart, lungs and muscles whilst preserving your joints and ligaments.
Saving money
Once you've made the initial outlay on your bicycle and helmet, the costs associated with running and maintaining your new mode of transport are really small. As long as your bicycle isn't an absolute wreck to begin with, you should budget about £1 to £2 per week on average for servicing.
A greener planet
However small, we all want to make a contribution to a greener planet right? If you live in a city it's particularly relevant that your bicycle journeys are taking up less road space and you are reducing the amount of air pollution in comparison to making the same journey using a motorised vehicle.
Covid 19
Client and Employee Safety
Protecting both clients and employees from Covid 19 is of paramount importance to City Cyclist.
Government Legislation and Advise
City Cyclist actively observes Government legislation and advise regarding safety measures in the fight against Covid 19.
Helping People Back To Work
Cycling and related companies were amongst the first to become active again after the lockdown began. We recognise the importance of our role in helping people to get back to work, by providing them with a credible alternative to Public Transport.
Here's how it works
It's really simple. There are four easy steps.
1First consultation by phone
This is where we really establish what your needs and priorities are. Remember, we're your personal bicycle consultant. There's no charge for this.
2We do all the background research for you
If you're buying a bicycle, we will research the market for you based on what you've told us. There's no charge for this.
3We call you back
We'll give you professional and objective advise based on our product and industry knowledge and recommend what's appropriate for you. You can decide where you'd like to take it from here based on our recommendations. There's no charge for this consultation either.
4Now we get you riding
This is where you'll really benefit from having us on board. If you refer back to our Services section, we can provide any or all of the options.
How much will it cost?
